May 22 Alder Springs: This hike is about 6 miles round trip. It goes downhill first, then crosses a 15 foot wide creek and continues for 1-1/2 miles to the confluence of the Deschutes River and Whychus Creek. There is a beautiful canyon with great rock formations.

Please bring hiking poles, water shoes (we will let you know how high the creek is when we pre-hike it, will probably be at least knee high) and a towel to dry your feet off. Also needed are lunch, water, sunscreen, bar of soap for Care and Share and $4 for the driver.

We will meet at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 8:30 to carpool. It is about a 1-1/4 hour drive from Sunriver. The last part of the road is very rough and requires a car with high clearance. Please RSVP to either Pat Arnold – patorken@gmail.com or Melodee Munckton- melodeem@gmail.com

The May 25 Paulina Peak hike has been cancelled for now due to too much snow on the trail.

June 2: Hike to Metolius. Start from the fish hatchery and hike approximately 6.5 miles, in and out. The hike has gentle terrain (short inclines and declines), and the path has some rocks in it, so a walking stick might be advisable. There should be an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies.
