June 15: Round Mountain Hike. The 10 mile round trip hike is rated difficult with a 1720 ft elevation gain. Hike thru wildflowers, then climb to the summit - the most difficult part - but enjoy the lovely views. Meet at HTCC at 7:00 for a 2 hour drive. Bring lunch, snacks, water. poles if you like and $5 for driver. RSVP to Laura Dickinson or Carolyn Spaniol.

Location: Salt Creek Falls

June 13: Salt Creek Falls, this 7-mile round trip hike includes 3 water falls, including Salt Creek Falls, the second tallest in Oregon.  Difficult hike with 1000 ft elevation gain.  Bring hiking poles.

Meet at HTCC at 8:30 - 1 hour and 15 min drive.  Bring lunch, water, bar of soap for Care and Share and $4 for driver.  We'll stop on the way home at Odell Lake Lodge for an ice cream or a beer.

Location: Hager Mtn Lookout

June 6: Hager Mountain Lookout, 5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 1700 feet.  Panoramic views all the way to Mt. Hood and Shasta on clear days.  Hike thru pine forests and open fields of wild flowers. Meet at HTTC at 8:30 - 1 hour 20 min. drive.  High clearance cars recommended.  Bring lunch, water, soap for Care and Share and $4 for driver.

Location: Alder Springs

May 22 Alder Springs: This hike is about 6 miles round trip. It goes downhill first, then crosses a 15 foot wide creek and continues for 1-1/2 miles to the confluence of the Deschutes River and Whychus Creek. There is a beautiful canyon with great rock formations.

Please bring hiking poles, water shoes (we will let you know how high the creek is when we pre-hike it, will probably be at least knee high) and a towel to dry your feet off. Also needed are lunch, water, sunscreen, bar of soap for Care and Share and $4 for the driver.

We will meet at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 8:30 to carpool.It is about a 1-1/4 hour drive from Sunriver. The last part of the road is very rough and requires a car with high clearance. Please RSVP to either Pat Arnold - or Melodee Munckton-

Meet leaders, Melodee Munckton and Maggie Thurman at Holy Trinity Church on Cottonwood at 9 a.m. Please bring $4 for driver, sunscreen and a bar of soap for Care and Share.

Note Change: We will have lunch at the food trucks at The Bite in Tumalo.

The Whiskey Ridge trail is part of the Tumalo Canal Historic Area between Tumalo and Redmond. The trail is approximately 5 miles long with 300 feet of elevation gain; through Juniper trees in and around 100-year-old canals, remains of a failed reservoir project from the early 1900s. There are views of Cline Buttes and the Cascades.

April 25: Hearty Soles Friendship Hike!
Join your leaders, Marti Fobes and Carolyn Spaniol for a 5 - 6 mile walk through Sunriver.  Meet at Hola! Restaurant in Sunriver at 10 a.m.  After our hike we will have lunch at Hola!
