July 28: Rosary Lakes, The Rosary Lakes hike starts on the Pacific Crest Trail off Willamette Hwy 58 and is a 6 mile round trip hike to Lower Rosary Lake, past Middle Rosary Lake and on to North Rosary Lake.  It is rated an easy hike thru the forest.  Bring lunch to eat at one of the lakes before we head back. Also bring water, BUG SPRAY, soap for Care and Share, and $4 for driver.

Location: La Pine State Park

June 26:  La Pine State Park Hike. This is a 4-mile, flat terrain hike.  Meet at Holy Trinity Church at 9:00 to carpool, or at the entrance to La Pine State Park at 9:30.

Bring water, snack, sunscreen, and soap for Care and Share.

Location: Fall River

June 30: Hike to Fall River. This hike is approximately 7 miles, in and out, and relatively flat. Most of the trail follows the river and there should be colorful wildflowers and plants. There are restrooms available. Leaders: Rae Klein and Christine Dishaw.

Time: 9:00 a.m.

Location: Paulina Lake

June 23: The Paulina Lake Loop Hike is a moderate hike of roughly 7.5 miles, with a 630 FT elevation gain. There are a lot of rocky areas on the path, and one rather steep short hill to climb and descend to avoid a water crossing. There are moderate inclines, mostly in the last half of the hike.
The long range forecast is for sun and 84 degrees (although this could change several times between now and then).
Based on the forecast, the meeting time has been moved to 8:30am. The meeting place will be the parking lot on the NE corner of Hwy 97 and Paulina Lake Road. A NW Forest Pass or America the Beautiful pass is required for each car entering the upper Caldera area. Walking poles suggested.  Bring water, wear a hat and sunscreen. Lunch at lodge to follow.

June 2: Hike to Metolius. Start from the fish hatchery and hike approximately 6.5 miles, in and out. The hike has gentle terrain (short inclines and declines), and the path has some rocks in it, so a walking stick might be advisable. There should be an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies. Friday, May 11, Lower Paulina Creek Trail: Easy to moderate, 5.6 miles round trip following Paulina Creek to Mc Kay Crossing Campground via a 15 foot waterfall.

Lunch or snack at campground before returning to the trailhead and cars.

April 25, Mid-Soft Soles Friendship Walk!
This is on the same day as the Hearty Soles Friendship Walk but this walk is for those of us who want to take a nice leisurely stroll along the river and then have lunch at Hola’s after. We will be out approximately an hour and there are several benches along the way if you need to rest and take in the beautiful scenery.

Meet at 10:00 a.m. at Hola’s parking lot.  Bring water and a bar of soap for Care and Share. RSVP to your leaders, Laura Dickinson, laurad6788@gmail.com and Thea Ciccolo by April 23. Please indicate if you will be joining us for lunch as we need a firm head count.
