Coats for Kids

All too soon we will have freezing temperatures and snow and that means Coats for Kids is back!  So many children in Southern Deschutes County do not have winter clothing to wear to school or to play in the snow.  The need will be even greater this winter season and there is no time like the present to start.  I will be collecting snow and sweat pants, jackets and sweatshirts, snow boots and socks and gloves and hats at every Women’s Club luncheon though February.

If you don’t have time to shop, or just plain hate to shop, no problem!  You can make a monetary contribution which I can then use to shop for specific winter items the school coordinator for the Three Rivers and Rosland Elementary Schools requests. Please make checks payable to SRWC with a notation for “Coats for Kids.” Remember all donations are tax deductible!

I am so excited to be coordinating this amazing program and if you have any questions please contact me, Kathy Garofalo-Nakae at or give me a call at 925-408-0180.  I’ll see you and your winter wear at the next luncheon!

Let’s be sure every child can play in the snow this winter!
