Tuesday, August 27. A 360-degree panorama of the Cascades makes the hike up Coffin Mountain trail worth the two-hour ride to the trailhead. The trail traverses through bear grass and wildflowers and varied terrain, gaining 1,020 feet over a mile and a half. So it’s a steady uphill and steep in places, but the reward is the view from the fire lookout on the mountaintop. Sturdy boots and hiking poles are a must. Meet at 8 a.m. at HTCC and we’ll have lunch afterward in Sisters. Bring a snack, water (none at trailhead), bug repellent, sunscreen and soap for Care and Share. RSVP to your leaders, Nancy Todd or Liz LeCuyer.
We meet the first Wednesday of each month from 1-3:00. Contact Pat Arnold if you would like more information, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our philanthropy is knitting chemo caps and also warm caps for the Sunriver and LaPine school children. We have donated approximately 130 in the past year.
The SRWC Dinner Club will be holding its first social event on September 8, 2019 from 3-6 p.m. in the home of Debbie and Brian Dunham.
